Our Story
Firehouse Brewing Co. opened in 1991 in the heart of downtown Rapid City, and today we are proud to be the oldest operating brewery in the state of South Dakota. A fresh chapter in our company’s history began with the hiring of Mike Beebe as Head Brewer, overseeing an overhaul in operations from an old-school brewpub to a modern production brewery with top-level technical precision, quality, consistency and creativity. Under Beebe’s direction, Firehouse Brewing Co. offers an expansive and exciting lineup of masterfully crafted beers that stand with the very best.

Mike Beebe
Head Brewer Mike Beebe is a native of New York’s Hudson Valley and has worked in the brewing industry since 2011, starting at the Sprecher Brewery in Milwaukee, WI. Prior to taking over the brewing operations at Firehouse, he was Lead Brewer and R&D/Barrel Program Director at Motorworks Brewing in Bradenton, FL. When he’s not hard at working designing or brewing the next great beer for Firehouse, Mike enjoys cooking for his family, traveling, reading, watching sports, and exploring the great outdoors with his wife Jenny, son Archer, and their dog Duncan.
